L'ensemble des poèmes de Lovecraft a été regroupé dans un recueil établi par S. T. Joshi édité en 2001 chez Night Shade Books, « The Ancient Track: The Complete Poetical Works of H. P. Lovecraft » ; l'ouvrage n'est plus disponible à l'état neuf.

Ce volume comprend donc tous les poèmes connus de H. P. Lovecraft, y compris des poèmes sans titre ou fragmentaires trouvés dans des lettres et autres documents. La poésie de Lovecraft doit être considérée comme une facette bien moins importante de sa production littéraire que ses fictions, ses essais et ses lettres, mais elle reste un important élément de ses œuvres.

Jusqu'à cette édition, la poésie de Lovecraft avait été dispersée dans plusieurs volumes dont la précision textuelle n’a pas toujours été exemplaire, alors que plusieurs poèmes sont restés non collectés. Cette édition complète des vers de Lovecraft n’affectera probablement pas de manière significative sa réputation littéraire, mais elle peut donner quelques indications sur l’homme et son œuvre qui sont restées obscures jusqu’à présent. Au moins quelques-uns de ses poèmes ont des mérites substantiels qui méritent d'être reconnus.

Du côté des éditions françaises, seule une faible proportion des poèmes ont été traduits et édités. On peut citer à ce titre les « Fungi de Yuggoth », édités chez NéO en 1987 ou dans le second tome de ses oeuvres paru chez Robert Laffont en 2010. Quelques autres poèmes se trouvent également éparpillés dans divers recueils.
